Ok I'm out of ideas.  I have a Herman Miller family file that came from their website.  It worked fine in 2011, but now it won't load into 2012 projects.  It's only the Aeron style chairs.

Anyone know how to fix this?  I'm stumped.

Thanks,

Lorne

I loaded the Aeron work chair and placed it in 2012 with no problem.

Is it that you can load it but simply cannot place it?

Lorne,

keyaggie might have your answer.  Are you sure it is not loaded?  Is it in the browser?  Remember, 11 & 12 are a little funny on when you can load and use objects.  You must be in the correct view.

Hey guys,

I double checked to see if it's loaded into the project and it did not show up.  I am also in contact with Herman Miller and they said with the 2012 upgrade that the cutout image for the material is not included in the material library.  So I tried to put that into the 2012 directory, but still isn't loading (cutout image attached).  I went and put the cutout pattern that Herman Miller sent me here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Autodesk Shared\Materials\Textures\2\Mats.  However that didn't work when I loaded it into the project.

I thought maybe it has to do with our project template file.  So I started a brand new blank imperial project and it still won't load in.  I still get the error message.

The Revit family I am using directly is attached.  Perhaps there is something else wrong with the family?  Like I mentioned, it is only the aeron chairs that will not load.

Thanks,

Lorne

keyaggie said they loaded it ok in 2012 so maybe you have other issues.  Did you install update 1 on 2012?

Yea I've installed 2012 Update 1.

That's odd, I've tried several different projects, including the blank imperial one and it still doesn't load.  I have also tried different computers and different users.  Still won't load.

Keyaggie, did you try uploading this exact model I've attached to my last post?

Thanks guys,

Lorne

Ok so I have been in contact with Herman Miller and they resent all their Aeron chair families to me that have been fixed for 2012.  It had something to do with the geometry cutting between a complicated solid and void.

They have fixed it and it's great.  I have uploaded the families originally to the RevitCity library.  HOwever it won't let me update the families uploaded or delete them to repost the current version.  Any ideas how to do that?  My uploads are here: http://www.revitcity.com/downloads.php?action=search&user_name=lorne17&exactname=Y
