Hi,

I just installed Revit Architecture 2012. In the 2010 I had windows, doors, walls, etc.... already when I installed it. In the new version I have nothing! ANd I cant find where the families are to load them? SO I can't put even a door or a window to my project without creating a new one or download it. Can someone Help please????

Thanks

You need to check where Revit installed those folders, try in "c:\programdata\autodesk\RAC 2012\Libraries"

if you dont find the library... you can hit load family, and go up on the tree folder (and see where the families are located).

When you are browsing for the route, try to be REALLY careful with the spaces and the upper case.

As example, ProgramData is different than Program data and Program Data.

Thank you for the help but I still can't find the families. I go to load family and search all over the folder of Revit 2012 and the possible folders where the files could be, but still nothing!!! The only thing to do I think is to Download somewhere the basic families..... but I can't find them on internet

The library should be part of your installation.  Make sure you can see all folders including system folders, then do a search of your system looking for files with a .rfa extension.

The folder ProgramData is hidden, so you need to go to Control Panel/Folfer Options and under View tab check

"Show hidden files, folders or drives".

I was having the same problem in 2013. Do as the above poster suggested and turn on view hidden folders
