Hey guys - can you help me out. I am unsure how to add crown molding to cabinetry? Also, the cabinetry in the library is pretty basic. Is there a way to import an existing model from a library and remodel it to what I want it to look like? IE open cabinets....etc?? Thanks! - Matt

Sure, you can open up pretty much anything in revit, and take a stab at improving it. It's a good way of learning how families are put together, though it might be a little confusing at first.
Reverse engineering was the #1 contribution to my understanding of family-building. usually stemming from blowing up people's good models, thinking I knew better, and then trying to reconstruct the functionality I destroyed.
You could make open cabinets, sure. And complicated molding could be achieved with sweeps and "pick 3D path". There are some good tutorials for family building. Even straight from autodesk.
