We currently have a large office bulding project with a 3 member team. the building is existing and the majority of the work is interior demo and space planning/furniture layouts. As we embark on building the existing model in addition to various design options, we are trying to identify the proper worksets. Any input or comments on our current strategy would be great.

Worksets would be for:

Existing Structure, Existing Building Shell, Existing Core, Furniture, and Fit Out

We were going to use design options for new/updated fit outs. the floor plan doesnt fit entirely on the sheet so we will look to use east and west worksets for this as well.

  • Worksets are great as long as users don't check them out and borrow instead but too many can be a problem.
  • Remember that when you create a workset, you can turn it off in all views by default when you create it.  GOOD TOOL - Interiors (furn) is typically not on in every view for us.
  • Be careful with design options.  Only one user at a time can work in a design option.
  • East and west worksets does not seem worthwhile.
  • Allways put Revit links in their own workset ... so you can use reduced loads....
