My Architecture office is using Mac Pro's with OSX and Parallels to run Windows 7 and Revit 2011.  We are having issues with getting everyone to be able to work synchronize to the Central File.  If one workstation (workstation 1) intially creates the Central File, puts it on the server then creates a local from the Central File they have no issue when synchronizing to Central.  However if another workstation (workstation 2) creates their own Local File it does not synchronize to central, it tries and an error of "File Failed to Save" pops up everytime.

The Central File location is the same on both workstations (ex.  \\psf\FirmProjects\Active Projects\Project# and name\Construction Documents\Drawings\Central File Name}.

We have also turned off all antivirus and firewalls to elimnate that as an access issue.

Any suggestion on how we may be able to get everyone working with Local Files, and Synchronizing to Central?

Thanks

we are running that same config. and I started the first Worksharing Central / Local project today and had the same scenario happen. did you ever find a solution?

I went into permissions for that file and folder on the OS X server and they were changed to read only, changed them to read-write but still no luck.

Were you ever able to resolve this?  We're trying to do a similar setup running our new office on mac hardware with vmware.

We've solved the path issues and it seems you can get around it with the subst command in dos, but that's a workaround you need to do every time you restart your computer.

If instead you make sure vmware or parallels has the same path (UNC), then you get a read-only error.

Maddeningly frustrating.  I've read it has something to do with Macs SMB protocol so storing the central on a Mac is dicey unless you upgrade.  I'd hate to have to buy a PC server.

Thanks to anyone who has any info on this.
