I made a extrusuion solid and added a material to it (faux stone). The sides are horz. and the front is vertical?? The material is horz. in picture.... DOes anyone know why and how to fix??

hover your mouse over the lines of the stone hatch, while the family is editable, and hit tab. You should be able to select a line in the hatch. Then hit rotate (RO), click, type 90 and enter, or do it manually. If you select and rotate a line in a hatch, it rotates the entire hatch. It also rotates any render materials associated with it. Hatches try to align to elements, but you can't really fault revit for not knowing that chair legs are vertical, and chair seats are horizontal, for example. So some work is going to be required to get your materials oriented right.
