Hi

I make a structural framing family - 2 columns with a beam.

The columns stand on level 1, and the beam is actually 6 meters above the level1' floor.

However, I can see the beam on level 1's plan ...... howcome?

I try to change the referance plane, and even move the whole structure higher inside the family.....but it doesn't work at all.

Do you know how I can solve this problem?

Thank you very much

There are a couple factors.

Since your beams and your columns are all one family, if any edge of the family is visible, it's ALL going to be visible.   What category is your family built in?  And is it built in place, or is it made in a separate family and loaded into your project?

Also, are your view ranges set with a top/cut plane?

Finally, think about making groups.  Instead of a single family that's both beams AND columns, use real beams and columns, get them set up and joined right, and then form a group.  You can then copy and move this group around your project, and won't have the same problems with visibility.
