how can you tell which is the front or back of the window? "slider with trim" window...I cant tell....I want to take off the trim from the interior so there is no trim or sill, but it seems like the window is backwards. ie set in the wall reversed, but I cant tell the difference when I open the part and try to delete the trim.

hello warchitect.

load up a double hung window family, place in wall.

check 3d view and note the positioning of upper sash(should be on outside).

i placed the window with mouse pointer near the outside of the wall, and window inserted correctly.

if you are inserting generic type windows, maybe they dont have accurate sloping sills, (made with simple sweep, to all 4 sides perhaps.)

maybe duplicate one of these family and edit to provide a better sill with fall etc(also makes it easier to identify in plan view.

regards,

geoffm

Thanks Gform,

you hit on exactly what I was asking, I guess. Also I did delete the wrong side of the window LOL.

its easy to note the double hung one, your right, the more generic ones gets a little vague.

warc.
