Hey there,

Ive loaded in 3 images from the internet into my model for rendering. These are working well on my computer as they are sitting on my desktop - however, I need to transfer the file onto my colleagues computer for a high res render. The images I've transfered and put onto the desktop of my colleagues computer, yet the file doesn't seem to be recognising it therefore not rendering using these images. Any ideas how I can fix this? Thanks

This is a pathing isse I think.  Items like this need to be stored in the same location as the central file.

A pathing issue sounds correct - I've been looking at how to link the paths to the files I need rendered but no luck. Any further ideas on how to do this?

I've seen on one forum that says to go to SETTINGS>OPTIONS>RENDER THE PATH FOR THE FOLDER.....but this was posted in 2008. I am using 2011....and can't seem to find the same solution in Revit....

Once you add the path, reassign the material to any object. The render texture will update.

If you dont work with a central server, try to mantain the textures in a generic place, like c:\materials  , no subfolders. That way it will be easier to reapply any texture.

Thank you for replying - I don't actually know how to add the path. Currently the images are on the desktop; good idea creating a folder, I will do this. But for now.....are you able to help with adding the path? Thank you

Its the same way that the one you described. R/Options/rendering/ , there click on the green + symbol, and browse for the path.

After that, restart revit, open the proyect, open a family/wall/ any object with custom texture images on it, and check the materials applied. The ones that revit cant find (for the path issue) will be marked with red letters of the name of the texture.

Thanks for help - but I don't have the option (or can't find) for R/Options/rendering - I've looked in the toolbars etc and I can't seem to see this.....I've attached a screen shot of the closest things I can find but these don't allow me to find the green + symbol......thanks hopefully getting closer!

somehow, i cant atach a jpg. The green + button allow you to add a line of a path... you have to click on the corner or near the corner of that "add" text line to be able to add a texture path to your rendering library.
