I have created a shaft through my first floor slab down to the ground floor, the shaft opening shows up as solid lines on the first floor but nothing is indicated on the ground floor, I wish to see the extents of the shaft as dotted lines on the ground floor plan, anyone help?

Try editing your shaft opening and trace over it with Symbolic lines set to <Hidden>

AND make sure your shaft extends into the ground floor slab, if it stops at the ground level, and your floor is ending at the ground level, they aren't intersecting, and thus it won't create the opening in your floor.
