hi
I am trying to make a roof by footprint. everything seems ok to me however revit is giving me the errror message - 'Can't make footprint roof.'
Helpful ay.
Can someone please tell me why revit knows when you are doing something wrong but doesnt tell you what.

It could be numerous things. The assigned roof pitches may be causing revit to not be able to generate the roof shape, you could have overlapping lines somewhere in the sketch, you might have applied a slope to a curve that merges into a straight section that revit cannot calculate...
Best bet is to check the overlapping lines first. Tab select the strings of lines, copy to clipboard then delete them... Are there any lines left over? If so delete them and paste aligined back the sketch. Also, trace along the sketch and ensure all lines are trimmed to each other appropriately.
