Is there a way, in Revit, to print ALL the WINDOWS, (that are in use in the project), on a sheet?

We have control over all the schedules that Revit creates for us but our suplier still wants a FRONT drawing of each window. (As we use to do before in Autocad)

I tried to drag the [Window Type] under [Families], directly into a sheet but that does not seem to be the way!

Any idea?

Have you read anything about using legends?  You can legend any Revit component.

In your HELP read:

Yes but is there a way that revit places the windows in the LEGEND automatically? Or do we really need to drag and drop one by one withough knowing if that type is in use or not?

You create the legend from families that YOU use in the project.  Obviously you would know what you use because you placed them.... (You could also create a schedule if you really don't know.  It could list all the families and types used)

Thanks for your quick answer WWHub Smile

1 - Ok, yes I can control, "what types are in use", by looking at the window schedule but it will still be a manual process: - if someone removes a window in the project, they have to remember to remove it on the legend as well! It can become easily messy after a while.

2 - But further on: How do I TAG those windows inside the legend?

I don't understand your problems.  We have been scheduling window types for ages.  Type A, B, C etc... asnd if C gets deleted then so what?   Revit does a lot for you automatically but it can't do it all.

Regretablly, you can't tag a legend window and this has been discussed a lot.   We just add a simple dummy tag like we did in CAD.

Ok, so you agree that if the type C gets deleted in the project, you have to remember to delet it in the Legend as well. I accept that if that is the best way to do it. I am just looking for efficiency here.

But what I am really struggling is to find the Window Type once in the Legend. How can I see the name of those windows so that I can manually TAG them?

I attached a print screen:

When you place the legend component, you select it by type...... so identify it while you still know what you picked.

Did you do as I suggested and have a schedule open that identifies your windows by family type and your Type designation?

I obviously will place them in order on my sheet... A,B,C....

OK, so there is no way to identify a window after it has been placed in a Legend.

I will start from scratch and follow your plan then! Quite a painful task Smile

Thanks you very much User MenuWWHub
