Hello programming geniuses.

I've looked into learning teh process of VSTA and the Revit API for a little while now but with projects piling up on my desk quicker than I can detail them, I'm requesting teh assistance or guidance of all the gurus here on RC to see if they can sterr me in the right direction. I know very little (or nothing) about the macro-creation or implementation process so far but I'm hoping to have a macro that can export a schedule of RFIs (Requests for Information) to an Excel spreadsheet every time I close (or save) a particular project. I would hope that it could either update only the fields that differ and maybe even import objects into Revit (though I think that would be pretty tough). The schedule that I have in RST12 is actually a note block as my RFI tags and sheets are both represented in the projects as symbols (not sure if that matters). Any ideas? I'm not even sure where to start... :-(
