So when I turn on graphics hardware acceleration, the screen graphics along the bottom of the Revit screen get all messed up (see pics). Does anyone else experience this? Any way to fix this? I am running an nVidia FX580 video card, and have tried several different versions of the drivers. When I turn off hardware acceleration, it is fine, but my models run way too slow.
Thanks

Sounds like you need to stop putting so much froo-froo on your drawings StructuresGuy.

that is an entry level graphics card, its running out of memory. upgrade your card or do not use hardware acceleration

Somehow I doubt this is the issue. The FX580 (512MB Ram) should be fine for the size of models we are typically creating, which don't usually exceed 50MB file size. Also, the problem exists even with a blank project. Besides, Revit has always claimed that super high end graphics cards are not required.
My machine is a dell T3500 running XP64 on a Xeon 3.2Ghz quad-core processor and 12 GB ram.

somehow i DO think thats the issue. when your hardware acceleration is on you have an issue. hardware acceleration is using the memory on your GPU (512mb) vs your ram (12gb). Do you see a little difference here? Maybe you drivers are not certified, incorrect or out of date. But from what I know the nvidia FX580 is a low end card, I would upgrade or just not use hardware acceleration since you sound like you obviously dont need it.

I would definitely update the drivers for your video card if you haven't.
Also, my machine was xp64 for a long time, and it had a hellish number of compatibility issues. I hated it. You should seriously consider upgrading to windows 7 64bit. You'll find much, much more support. And your computer won't, say, laugh in your face when you ask it to install Word or other basic programs that work in either xp 32 bit, or all versions of vista and 7 --- but not xp64.
We got it as an experiement to see if it was faster than 64bit 7, and it was not a noticable difference.
