I've been using Revit Architecture for a few years now and have a pretty good system thus far. I have been placing Text in the "Floor Plans" for all notations (Architectual and Structural). I should say rather than placing text in the Sheets.

Lately I have been drawing options and would like to know the correct practice for placing texts and notations. Should we place them in the Floor Plans or the Sheets?

What's your standard and why?

Definitely the views, this is not CAD.  Because every view in Revit is unique (except for dependent views), their is no reason to place text on sheets.

Remember, unlike CAD, you can have as many "floor plans" as you want and each one can have its own unique notations.

Thank you so much! Makes sense to me. I can just "Duplicate with Detailing" and have the correct text for each options within Each Option Plan.

Another good reason, is if you move a view on a sheet, the text doesn't go with.  Imagine if you decided you wanted to move a partial plan and all its annotations to another sheet, if the text was on the sheet, then you would find it very difficult to get the text to align back up with the view on the new sheet.

The only time I use text on a sheet, is when I'm using a dumby sheet (i.e.- the sheet already exists in CAD and we don't want to take the time to bring it over into Revit), I place a BIG text just saying placeholder and the file name that you would go to for that sheet.
