Hello
I'm a student and I use Revit Architecture (the most recent version from the Autodesk student Website).
I have been able to load families (both from Revit itself and downloaded from the net) until two hours ago. Everytime I load a family (either through opening it separately or opening in my project) it just brings up my previously used family (a sink, but I need a doooorrr).
I have no idea what to do. I hope someone may be able to assist me!
Thanks.

you could go "load from library"..
and then go over to the project
browser and get the door from there..

You were probably just in the wrong view to use the component that you just loaded. But this doesn't mean the family is not in your project. In the plan view, click on the door tab and select it from your choices.
Also, if you have successfully loaded the family, find it in your browser, right click on the correct type and pick create instance.

OR my favorite! Uninstall/Reinstall! Have you tried since other families? If say, your door, was "hosed", i.e.- it truly doesn't work, then it won't load in any broken types. I've seen this happen if say, a profile as modified to be improper (crosses itself, etc.). If a dimension is too small (less than 1/32") then the family can't be created, etc. In other words, if your family breaks in some way, you won't get it loaded in AND you might not get any warning either!
