with spline lines.. but i don't want it to be irregular

like that.. how do i make accurate curves?

I would suggest using arcs, still.  Arcs will snap to suggest smooth transitions to the next segment.

when you go to draw your shape, there is the little box which has the pick lines, box, etc.  It also has the arc from center, arc from 3 points, etc.  Use either of these to get the shape you desire, splines, as you've noticed, don't allow any true accuracy.

use start-end-radius arcs.  They will consider the radius of the previous line legment in your path, and snap to suggest a smooth transition.

attached are two pictures, of the snapping of the arc in action, and a sample flashy sweep which I find hard to resist doing.

I went out of my way trying to help you.  sorry, I won't try again.   I'm guessing the "gurus" learned this lesson long ago, and that's why there are no other responses.

The "kink" you are seeing is where one portion of the sweep overlaps another.  They're not on the same plane.  The sweep is three tubes, and it's an isometric view.

of course i appreciate you trying to solve my problem..

my original problem explanation was this:

"i don't want it to be irregular

like that.. how do i make accurate curves?"

you showed my one long curve made with

pieced together arcs.. that leaves kinks and

bends in the thing..

but hang in there- you're doing great.. you

and me partners..

alterego-

the words "try again" was me trying to upload the

image for the third time.. in that image i was pointing

out the "kinks" or bends in the continuous curve- like

what i posted originally with an image showing that

problem..

how about this?  I'm assuming you can make the shape in CAD, right?  So make a CAD drawing of the shape as you want it, then import it into family, then use the pick lines to draw on top of it (tab click to get most of them at once)... Then delete the CAD import, and because I'm this way, copy linework to another family so that it doesn't have any of the CAD stuff hanging around... Extrude the shape, and hopefully you get what you want...

Read a geometry book - pay attention to tangential curves.  What alterego showed was correct and all tangential curves.

Hub- how is it correct if you can see the connection breaks in the

curve and i want a smooth consistant variable radius curve? and

what "geometry" book would you recommend?
