I have been struggling with a new project for the past week  using Revit MEP 2011.  I have received a model from the GC and am in the process of trying to place the electrical components int the plan,  There are 2 levels to this plan, Level 1 (Elev. 0'-0") and Level 2 (elev 13'-0").  I am tring to place receptacles on each floor at ann elevation 1'-6" above the floor.  the receptacles on level 1 appear to be in the correct location.  The ones on Level 2 are coming in 1'-6" BELOW the floor.  It almost appears that there is a hidden parameter that states that Level 2 is at 10'-0".  Where this is at I do not know.  Then I check the propertis of the receptacle on level 2 it states that the elevation should be 1'-6",  offset 0'-0", and other "schedule level is set to Laevel 2.  Am I missing something that controls the height?

Another issue I see is that the receptacle has a default value for the height to be 1' 6" but when I put it in with no elevation, level 1 comes in at 0'-0" and level 2 comes in 3' below the floor?

Any help would be welcomed.

Revit files automatically start off with 2 levels, the 2nd is at 10'.  open an elevation, you should see your 2nd level, move it up to 13', your done.   In the future, part of project setup is to link in the arch file, then copy/monitor its datum elements (grids and levels).  After you copy/monitor the architect's grids, you delete the default grids (and views go automatically with them).  Then you create new FP and RCPs for the levels based off the architect's model...  This way, if something changes, i.e.- a grid moves, you will be prompted to perform a coordination review, at which point you can agree with the change and your grid will now automatically move to the correct location, or your level will change to the new height...
