how do i make a sketch line with a variable radius?

third time trying to upload an image of the line i want to make..

The ellipse tool, standard for details lines and sketches, just use the slit element tool on it.

thanks myalterego- are you talking about making the line

into multiple segments with different radiuses? vs. one smooth

arch?

One smooth arch.  What you've shown is half an ellipse.  You also have splines as an option for lines, though they aren't acceptable for sketches, IE the path of a sweep. 

 

If you want to model objects with spline-like curves, it's best to draw the path as a detail line, and build the path of your sweep/whatever over the top with arcs.  Revit's handy curve-snapping makes this look pretty good, and the geometry is 100x more simple.

yes i traced those curves with a spline and made the extrusion-

but i would like a more accurate curve.. do you know of a way

to make a line- (detail or sketch)- that has lots of various radiuses

on it?

 

maybe some kind of formula with distance and radius or something..

 

okay forget that ellipse- this line i made with a spline but i need the

variable radius more accurate..

revit city software is so full of bugs anything only works half the time..
