I'm trying to show ceiling hosted exit signs on my code analysis floor plan, but I can't figure out how to make them show up outside the RCP.  Thoughts?

Thanks for your help!

Stephanie

Have you tried using overlay under view properties of the level?

Go to the view properties there should be a field called underlay, choose the RCP level you desire and OK

Thanks, pchan.  I did try that, but it doesn't give me the RCP as an option for the underlay.  I read in another thread that drawing an invisible model line from the fixture to the floor in the family editor works.  I tried that, and it sortof worked, but instead of the symbol for the exit sign showing up, it's the perimeter of the fixture model...still working on it.

there should be another field just below "underlay" that said underlay orientation and choose RCP there!

don't use the model line trick on the exit sign family since that will cause all the family show up on the plan view where this is an RCP object.

wow -thanks for the underlay orientation tip! I had never thought to look there!

So, it turns out it was just a matter of making object visible in fine detail mode.  I do want it to show up on the floor plan view - it's for a code analysis plan, for which I'm using the floor plan as the base.  I'll just turn them off in my regular floor plan.

Thanks again for your help!
