Hi i am a student and my exceeded my instuctors knowledge of revit beings they are just starting to teach it. and i am have an issue with my post and balister are not chaninging material when i change the rail material can someone help me with this issue.

as general you cant override the material of a family already loaded. Try to change it inside the proyect, or creating new materials in the family editor

In your "Project Browser" expand "families" and "Railings" then you can control what you want.

I have tried both options and i can only seam to get the rail it self to change the balisters and post stays the same color.
