Our firm is just starting revit, so this is probally a silly question, but here goes: We duplicated their standard ext. brick and block wall and want to make our cmu appear as lines (not their "x" pattern) that are always perpendicular to the wall lines. We saved and tried to draw our new wall and the horizontal (on the sheet) wall runs show the lines perpendicular, but the vertical walls show the lines vertcal, so there are 2 vertical lines representing the 7 5/8" cmu. Is there a way to make the lines relative to the wall direction? Thanks in advance.

Cut pattern lines cannot be rotated independantly, they are globally set in the fill pattern settings for that pattern and wall direction has no effect as you've discovered. Personally i believe this makes the most sense as if it was to alternate per wall direction there would be messy intersections where walls change direction and thus so does the pattern. Best bet is to set it to 45° or an angle that will be seen appropriate for the majority of wall directions... HTH.
