I'm creating doors at the mo. I want to form a rebate in the floor for the door sill, as part of the door insertion. The door family is wall based - the question is how can I apply the void form to the floor or foundation wall as part of the family, without having to do it manually in the subsequent project for each insertion? Once again, any help most appreciated - thanx Post edited on 2005-11-14 16:15:13

In order to cut a floor from an external family the template would need to be a floor based template. Given that you cannot have both a wall and a floor in a template this is no possible. Nice idea - post as a wishlist item.

I know this was posted a long time agon but, you could embed a wall based and floor based family into a group and then do it that way...

Unless you have figured out a better way to do it thats what I end up doing for some classroom front setups.
