i downloaded this revit object http://www.revitcity.com/downloads.php?action=view&object_id=9347 then found out it was 2011. i downloaded 2011 opened it and sent it to autocad. i imported it back to revit2010 but it looks like crap. anyone know any tricks to make it look better?

i don't believe there is a purpose for AutoCAD in a Revit/BIM world..

 

but we DO want to open an AutoCAD drawing and look at it or use

it for reference to build something in Revit.. and the best way i know

to do that is open a separate session of Revit and import the CAD

file as a "mass" element.. that way you can slice it and dice it and

get all the information out of it you want..

 

you CAN convert Revit elements into a DWG file- but they probably

won't like it..

Erland, the member that created this, is often in the chatroom.  Talk to him there, he might help you.

 

vector is completely wrong.  AutoCAD still has a place and will continue to serve some parts of the BIM world.  If you can start with a Revit primitives though, you are much better off.

my school only has 2010 so i do most of my work on it. i do have 2011 but it dosent help with assignments.
