Hello, I just rotated my project North and now my level markers on my elevation views and sections are not showing up.  I clicked copy/monitor to see if I had to re-do that, and it says the levels have already been copied.

I clicked hide/unhide and it does not show up.  Any idea what's going on?

Thanks

Joe

Your missing components do not extend into the view, to solve this, you need to create a new elevation/section view, and then drag the levels longer, OR you can change the view depth of your section/elevation.  Typically, I create a temporary section in a location where I know I'll see a level, and then I click on the level and drag it out (remember to keep it under 3D control, if the level is getting cropped in this view, when you drag the cropped end, you are dragging the 2D control, and thus only modifying it for this view, whereas you want to modify it for all views).  Another option is to click on each level, right click and select maximize 3D extents, repeat this for each level.

yea, it's strange, but I've done that too (new section or elevation).

You mentioned 3D.  I did move the grid lines around, clicking the little 3D button to make it 2D so that it doesn't stretch on other levels.

I have a feeling it has to do with the fact that I rotated my project North

Another option is to create a scope box, make it encompass the largest portion of your site, and then select all your levels and under properties assign them to the scope box you made.  They will then adjust to be that size.  This won't effect any views which the levels have been set to 2D, UNLESS you right click on each and every level and do the following:  Right click and select reset to 3D Extents.

A quick lesson:  When you see the 3D, you are controlling this object for ALL parallel views (not views which are perpendicular, and I'm not sure of any views which are inbetween perpendicular and parallel), if you lengthen the level's line, you are doing it for all views.  If any view is set to 2D extents, then it ignores any length change from the 3D (it is an override if you will).  2D happens when you explicitly click on the 3D text changing it to 2D, OR when the view crops your level/grid, they become 2D on the cropped end.  If you change the length of a 2D, it will only change the length in that view.  So, in method above, we are returning all the levels to 3D when we right click on a level and reset to 3D extents (you could also click on the 2D and it will become 3D.  Another indicator is the drag spot, if it is an open circle, then you are in 3D extents, if it is a smaller filled dot, then you are in 2D.

Scope box, when you set the levels/grids to a scope box object, the levels/grids will automatically extend to the size of the scope box.  Thus this option should fix your problem.

This did happen when you rotated your project, but what happended was that the levels didn't get rotated also (not a problem), this resulted in them not being "intersected" by your views, thus they fell out.  All we have to do is make it so that the levels are intersected by your views, and you will see them again.

Just noticed a new tool (new to me).  If you click on a level (in 2011) there is a command called Propagate Extents, choose the sections/elevations that you want the levels to show up in, and it will now show up in these views...
