Does anyone have a slick way to show wood shearwalls/braced wall panels in plan view? I think the best thing I’ve come up with so far is a framing family that I can draw like a beam and tag. I had to make a separate family for holdowns and tag separately. I also tried annotation symbol and detail component, which seems like it would be quicker, but each had issues. I can’t believe I am having to try and re-invent the wheel on this one. Would really appreciate your thoughts. do you need to show it in plan only? if so, I would use a detail componenet and put the annotation in it, though if you need to tag, creating a family is not a bad idea...

Yes, just plan view. I think my Braced Wall and Holdown families and corresponding Tag families are going to work well. Seems to be the most efficient. Thanks for the reply. Sam Post edited on 2005-11-15 19:15:56

Thank you AutoDesk for adding the line based detail component in v.9. Sam
