I downloaded the student version of revit 2011 and when i go to the "Wall" drop down menu i only get Basic Wall and Curtain Wall....

It does not have all of the other walls   Cmu and brick, metal stud etc...

Even when i go to edit the Basic wall and try to change materials for its structure there are no materials loaded...no concrete, wood etc.

I have reinstalled the Autodesk material library and it still does not load anything that i have on my school computer ...i just dont know why its doing this?  Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

Walls are system elements and Revit starts you off with a couple.  You will need to either build on these creating your own types or find others on-line.  Look at http://www.usgdesignstudio.com/ for some walls roofs and floors.

i did fix it. my computer was not connected to the internet, thus when i installed the program Autodesk could not download the necessary wall types and families from its online database.

There is a way to do it offline, but its more complex.

May: try connecting your computer to the internet and reinstall revit.

hope that helps!
