Hi kids. I'm new to revit. I'm importing a surveyor's autocad file into revit to try and model my site. He provided me with very little contour like (polyline) information, but provided me with a very comprehensive set of elevation points. These elevation points - essentially just dots in autocad - come in to my revit model in one flat plane. How can I get my revit site model to create itself based on these elevation points / coordinates? Is this possible? Can I give the dots a "z" value in autocad that will translate to revit? Or does Revit require polyline contour lines with elevation value to create it's site models? Help help help. Thanks.

You can create a topo surface with differents ways, if you have in CAD those Contour lines with Z, you can import that file and select only those layers (contours) to create the topo, if you have in CAD the points with Z, there are a LISP routine where you can select those points and create a CSV file, then you can import that CSV file into Revit, check your HELP menu about this, also, at the bottom of this page you have similar threads about this same question, just search in Forums too.
