As per my last new thread, our firm are taking the plunge toward interior/equipment loading in Revit using ADB 2010 (until now we've used Codebook in .dwg exports) - but the BIG question of which template to use keeps coming up.

The keen "all-in-Revit" users want to use the hosted family templates - as do the majority of people who'll be doing our loading (ie. move wall, furniture item goes with it) but the long term Revit users, and cynics (me) worry about the whole, "delete-a-floor-lose-all-your-work-on-loading-items".

Obviously we have "re-host" & "pick primary host" to avoid the cynic's concern (but this could get v.tiresome with 100+ components on even a small wall) and then there's using locked dimensions to simulate hosting, but that involves extra work.

Hosting also rewards in that it gives you "cut" options (ceiling lights an obvious one there) but the arguments for and against seem equal - at least they do to me.

So, what do you do?
