Hey,

I have a door panel with a swing. So I can move the door in 3d view. The door panel is attached to a reference line.

As you can see from the attachement, I want to add a lower panel to a door ( It has to move with the door as well, when I change the angle). Unfortunately, Im not able to get the panel close to the door.

Can anybody suggest me, what am I doing wrong?

 Regards,

Before you create that panel select the work plane of that "reference Line", then create the panel, dimension and LOCK it or create a parameter for that distance.

Two days of trial and error but I finally figured it out.

I was choosing the wrong workplane all the time.

Now the lower panel of the door is a separate piece and moves together with the door panel.

Now I am able to attach all the neccessary elements to a door panel.

Furthermore, I did not know anything about workplanes before, but now I have a slight understanding of them.

Creating a new families is still a problem due to the constraints relationship problems.

Regards,

V
