So I made a "fatal error" and O chose to save and exit and saved it under my file name. When I reopened Revit and opened the file it said the time it saved was when it crashed but the file it opened was an old version of that file that I had saved over several times since! Luckily for some reason the backup file with the".003.rvt" after the name was a more recent save(not the most recent). Is there any chance at all that that real file I saved is floating around on my computer somewhere? Or am I screwed?HELP ME PLEASE! Smile

It is possible to recover the work using a journal file but something i wouldn't suggest a novice do. If you are confident in using revit. Journal files are kept in cPuhrogram FilesAutodesk Revit Building 8.1Journals... Each file keeps a record of everything you do in revit in each session. Locate the one with the appropriate time for when you experienced the issues. BACKUP ALL FILES OPENED IN THIS SESSION AND LOCATE THEM IN ANOTHER LOCATION This is because any saving you did during this session will be done again. To run a journal file, drag it onto your revit icon and sit back and watch. HTH.
