I'm using 2011 and have run into a wee problem...

My roof pitch really IS 8:12, but when I go to place a spot slope on the roof, it shows up at 6:12....

Obviously, I'm missing something here & don't know what setting I've got messed up.

Help?

Please?

TA!

Susan

perhaps your spot slope is returning % slope which would be 66%, or show views.

Ihave also had problems with the slope anotation showing incorrect slopes. I had to put in a thin line on the roof slope then it gave me the correct reading. Go figure.

I have not seen any problems with spot slope.  Are you using a slope indicator in your roof sketch, if so, then this is a problem but if you sketched your roof, then you should check your geometry.

Yes, I'm using a slope indicator on the roof sketch.

Since posting, I've noticed that it will place the spot slope correctly if it is on a front view of a gable, but not on a hip.

I know this is an old post but someone may run across it when working through the problem.

Tabbing when placing the spot slope should give you the ability to get to the proper edge.  Sometimes the cut edge especially when angling away from you in a 2D view will give an incorrect value.
