I'm working on some plumbing isometrics and I noticed that, other than text, you could insert dimensions and spot elevations.Using Spot Elevations brings in a symbol, a leader, a bit of text and it attaches to the object you specify. I thought "Hey, why couldn't this look at something other than an elevation parameter and give us the ability to tag types and diameters in isos?"

I've been tinkering with it but I've come across a couple of problems; 1) I can't find the Spot Elevation family in the browser to edit it and the option is grayed out when right clicking an existing spot elevation tag, 2) I created a new one from the existing family in the annotation library but it won't allow me to create one in the view, 3) Revit won't let me change the existing type to this new type. I've even tried using the same tag family and just renaming it, same results.

Has anyone played with this and figured out how to do it?

Also I noticed that if I have a spot elevation in the view and rotate the view the text re-orients itself but the symbol get's rotated (stays in the original orientation). Pretty minor, but it strikes me that it would be an easy thing to fix.

You can do it, just have to lock the 3d view. Hope that's what ur talking about.
