Using Revit 2010 and recently noticed a long delay when accessing the type selector pull down. The first few times seem normal but then it starts to take longer and longer (30 seconds or more) and eventually it just stalls out with no action. Any suggestions of why this might be happening?

Are you talking about a family type or the family selection?

How many families do you have loaded in your project?  How many of those should be purged?

It's the individual Elements of the family. e.g. If I want to swap out one size window for another, it churns for a long time. If I swap it using the Element Properties, it's fine. I will purge some families and see if it's noticable. It just started doing this without a lot of warning and every file seems to have the problem.

Are these windows in groups?  If so, then that is your answer

No they're not and it's not just windows, that was just an example. It's anytime I open the type selection drop down.
