I feel stupid asking this question as I feel line I should know the answer.

How do you copy objects drawn on one ref place to another in the Conceptual Mass family editor?

I'm creating several profiles on reference places which I want to create a form from (i.e. a loft between them), but how can I get the profiles on each reference plane in the same place without redrawing them each time.

Cheers.

Just select the obj(s). then Copy and paste like you can see.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that only works with levels.

See attached screen dump.

I've drawn my profile on reference plane 1, and want to copy it to reference planes 2 and 3 (to create a form from).

If I copy and paste, it places the spline back on refernce plane 1 even if I have another plane selected...

I have not been using this so this is a guess.  Have you tried to copy then change the host of the copied item to your other plane?

Yes - tried that - doesn't work...

The only thing I did find that if you select the splline and ref plane and drag it with control it copies it along with the reference plane - but what I want to do is copy the spline to an existing reference plane.

I'm supprised this can't be done??

Thanks for that (I like the music - does this mean that all answers in this forum will come with music?? I like that idea!)

The problem with that method is that it does not put the spline  on the ref plane (as far as I can see).

If you copy the spline as you have shown, and then move the Ref planes, the original spline moves with the ref plane, whereas the copy does not move with the ref plane its been copied to.

Also, how would you use that method if the ref planes are not paralell - say planes along a spline (see attached).

What I'm actually trying to do is model a form which will move with the spline, but I'm a little fed up having to redraw the profile on each plane (as its taking me ages) - which is why I'm thinking there has got to be a easier way of creating the spline on each plane.

I would like to copy the profile to each plane which I would then adjust.

About the rest, it's ANOTHER question, I think, first, you shoud take a look here: http://buildz.blogspot.com/

I'm probably being really stupid here, but I cannot get that to work either.

I click the align tool, select the ref plane, but I cannot select the spline – it doesn’t highlight. (I'm using the top view in 3D).

Am I doing something wrong?

Geeezz, I could barely read your last post, I needed to increase the screen with the CTRL / +

Archie456, not take it badly, but I think that you should really see that blog from "Zach Kron", has many videos about the "Conceptual mass" and "Adaptive Points" too.

Also, check www.designreform.net
