I'm new to Revit and am currently playing around with the 2011 version. I've been learning how to create massing and family objects. However, I've noticed that the interface is different between the two. Is there a way to add edges and profiles in family objects like there is in massings? Is this just a problem I have with my UI or did Autodesk really meant the two to have different limitations? Thanks for the help.

You can create solid and void sweeps, extrusions, revolves etc in families and join them to other objects in the family.
