I am wondering if there is a workaround to Keynoting By Sheet that allows you to edit the value of the keynote tag after you've placed it on the sheet?  I have tried creating different tags/symbols, and have exhausted my brainpower trying to work around this issue.  Basically I want to be able to keynote everything in no particular order and then go back and re-number the tags later, in case I needed to delete or add a tag at the end of a project.  Any ideas as to how to do this?

While in Revit, you can edit the keynote file BUT you must reload it before the edit will show.  Also, anytime you open a file, it will reload the latest file.

Right.  But my question pertains to when you Keynote with a Keynote Number, not the value or text in the Keynote File, but the order you place the Keynote Tag on the sheet.  I know you can change the Key Value (or which Keynote the tag correlates to), but you can't easily reorder the Keynote Number on the sheet.

I'm opening this thread again as I have the same issue as nick059. Maybe the new versions of revit have improved on this subject?

I would like my keynote numbering to follow the element it has been assigned to, and not the order of which I tagged the elements on the sheet.

Is there a way to do this?

Regards

-Mikkel

Ah my bad..

The keynote is ofc. used in the view, but the keynote legend and the label in the keynote tag, uses a ongoing numbering according to what order i clicked on the elements in the view..

Is there a way to make a label i a Tag family use the key value(from the identity data) instead of the ordinary numbering(which resets on each view)?

Or make the keynote tag use the same numbering for that specific element, for the rest of the project?

I repeat - DON'T USE KEYNOTE BY SHEET!

Please READ your Help on keynotes.  "Numbering Metho"

By keynote

Determines the keynote value by the value stored in the keynote parameter or selected from the keynote table. This value displays in the keynote as well as filling in the keynote parameter.
