I get this message on startup "the path you have specified for the default family template files is invalid".

I copied all the templates and libraries from the computer hard drive to the company server, so I changed the R>Options>File Locations to that new file location. When I went to load a beam it went to the server location, so it seems that everything is working ok, but I'm just not sure about the startup message.

The locations of family libraries are specified in the "Places" tab in the "File Locations" dialoge box. The default template path is specified in the "Default Path for Family Template Files" in the "File Locations" tab. This the default location for your family templates for when you want to create a new family.

If anything is there a typo in the file path?

I tend to keep the default out of the box library content seperate from our company libraries. I leave the "OOTB" content on each hard drive and any new custom created/modified families are saved to the server. I do this because when you install a new release of Revit it will overwrite the "OOTB" libraries and if you save your created/modified families there, they will be lost.
