(revit 2011) Hello everyone - I was trying to make a symbol family that would work as a partial dimension. It would be intended for use in details where you want to show a dimension, but don't want to bother showing the far end of the dimension, as in a sill detail; the sill would take on a witness line, and the arrow would point downwards to a finish floor, or some other datum line. The attached file should have instance parameters set up for length and height, but neither one seems to have the handy little blue arrows that let you graphically stretch it in a project environment. Is this a limitation of Symbols (generic annotations), or perhaps I am missing something? Thank you in advance for any help.

I BELIEVE THIS IS A SYMBOL LIMITAION. I WOULD TRY TO CREATE IT AS A DETAIL COMPONENT.

The problem with making it a detail component is it won't change with the scale. Something I have done to work around a similar issue (I was trying to make a better break line) is to nest a symbol in a detail component. In your case, I would try making the tick and arrow head nested symbols, and the rest would be in the detail component. It's a workaround, but it does work.
