Is it posible to link an Architects Revit file and use its groups within my Structural Central file? I would like to frame up only the apartment units he created instead of the entire floor. Is this posible?

How about copying the architects groups into your project same place?  Then rename this group to structural framing then edit the group removing the architectural elements and adding your own.  All the groups will be in the correct place and modified as you need them.

If he changes his group or relocates ... you will still have to alter yours.

If the Architect updates? Do I reimport all the groups? What happens to my work that was applied to the imported groups before the update?

As I posted: "If he changes his group or relocates ... you will still have to alter yours"  Your group is not his group so it will not move or change with his changes.
