Greetings. Regarding Phase Filters, is there a way to change the default phase filter for a new view? Every new view begins as 'Show All'. Our office would prefer to have each new vew begin as 'Show Complete'. I realize that I cannot modify Show All. Even if I can modify Show All, I'd prefer to keep it as it is, for those who understand it and wish to use it. I also realize that I can use View Templates to manage views once they are created ... but many users are getting confused with red infills (at new doors in existing walls) and grey'd out (existing) walls. To avoid this confusion and to ease my bosses concerns, I am hoping to set the default for ALL new views to Show Complete. Can this be done?

It's a little bit of like going around you elbow, and then behind your head and through your legs to get to your nose, but give this a shot: http://screencast.com/t/xBHco3EW

You fell victim to one of the classic blunders. The most famous is never get involved in a land war in asia, but only slightly less well known is this! Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line! |

Carl. So if i understood correctly, if I create a new plan view and immediately set the Phase Filter to Show Complete, the next plan view I create will have Show Complete as the default view? If so, I assume that I'll need to do this for each (family) type of view ... What I didn't get (and probably 'cuz it's friday at 5:3 .... what was the purpose of creating the view template?

Creating the view template allows you to check that little box that says "Use this view template as default for new views of this type that are created" which means that every time you make a new plan, that view template is going to be used, including the default phase settings. Cheers!
