I'm having a difficult time with handrails. I'm able to specify wood rails & post. I can't seem to place the post except at corners. I'm wanting to place them every 6 feet and not necessarily at the corners. In the "Edit Baluster Placement" dialog box - "Corner Posts At" option is grayed out. I'm under the impression from "help" that, that is where the controls are. Is that right?
I'm also trying to change a baluster panel from glass to wire mesh. Or should I create a new baluster panel from a family template?
And finally, do I need more than one baluster panel for the ends, where I need to split the width because of size and spacing. How would I insert a second panel in the "Edit Baluster Placement" dialog box?
Thanks Reviters

I posted this on Augi;
With a standard baluster setup you can place your midspan posts in any location by setting the corner post at “Each Segment End” then use the Split tool on the sketch line to place your posts. This enables you to use the dim equal tool for even placement also. - SEE ATTACHMENT
If you do not want posts at the corners you will need to do the corner sections as a separate railing and set the posts accordingly (no corner posts)
"I'm also trying to change a baluster panel from glass to wire mesh. Or should I create a new baluster panel from a family template?right?"
Edit the glass panel, change the material in the new panel and "Save As" with new name.
Or better yet create a material parameter for the panel that can be changed at any time using properties.

I'm not sure on this as I haven't worked with panels yet, but you could create a width dimension parameter for your panels and create your different Type widths for the family. Then again do the corner/end panels separate as a separate railing and assign the correct width Type panels.
I'm thinking someone may have a better solution for this one.

Thanks Rythmick for the quick reply. This will keep me busy for now. In regard to post placement my problem is with the "Edit BalusterPlacement" dialog box. The "Corner Post At" option is greyed out. How do I activate the drop down window? I think I understand your post placement direction.
I'll let you know how the panel change works.
