I have been creating a new beam family (for strut design) in Revit Structure.  However, I am encountering a couple of problems.

For the first attachment (MI-120 3D with P1000), the file was created from scratch, however, I could not get it to give me start end offsets or allow me to rotate it on command.

So since I was frustrated, I created the second attachment (Beam Test) which was a steel shape family that was purged and replaced with my extruded shape.  This one allows me to rotate the beam and give me the end offsets.  However,  the end locations (that you can pick and drag around to revise the length) is not an available option now such that the beam does not stretch.  Additionally, the hole spacing is not coming out correctly.

If anyone could guide me through a way to fix either file, it would be appreciated.

I opened the Beam Test family and tried placing it into a project.  In coarse detail, the start/end extents show up for me correctly at the end of the stick symbol line.  However, when I switched it to fine detail, the strut extrusion only extends about 9' and does not change length when you drag the start/end points.  This probably means that the start and end of the strut is not aligned/locked to a reference plane correctly.  This would probably also explain why the holes are not spacing out.  I think that you have the right idea, just need to modify the family slightly to make it work.
