I'm working on a rain water outlet (cow's tongue) in MEP 2011. I created a revolve and then created a void extrusion to get my shape, but my void won't cut the revolve. I've tried using Cut Geometry but I get "Can't keep elements joined." I've tried grouping, I've tried everything I can think of but nothing seems to be working. Any ideas would be great. I've attached the file if anyone would like to look at it. It's in it's very early stages. Thanks, Jon

Hey there -- I downloaded that file, and took a look at it. Had me stumped a bit until I looked at the profile of your void sweep. You used a spline -- revit doesn't really like splines. So I traced the spline with three arcs that pretty clsoely matched it, and then the geometry was simple enough to cut with.

That's great. Thank you! Exactly what I needed to know. I had no idea that revit had issues with splines.
