I am just learning Revit and was wondering if I could import 3d piping into Revit MEP. Time is very critical and I have the piping already drawn. To save redrawing it in Revit I would like to import it in. I will also need to run clash detection as well. Any help?

You can link it in.. but you won't be able to manipulate it at all. Any needed changes will have to be in the CAD file and then you can 'update' the link to see the changes. Clash detection won't work like it should because Revit Clash Detection runs interference with Revit objects (from Revit links only). If you need to do a serious clash detection and have a Revit model for the building and MEP from CAD.. you will need NavisWorks. NavisWorks can deal with multiple formats coming together. For VIEWING and CLASH DETECTION. You won't be able to design/manipulate in this environment though.
