Is there a way to do this?  I need to make a legend for lighting fixtures, and the linear lights are placed vertically.  Can I save room by rotating them horizontally?  [ps, the regular rotate function does not work for this.]

DONT THINK YOU CAN DO IT. BUT YOU CAN TRACE THE LIGHT FIXTURE WITH DETAIL LINES AND THEN DELETE THE FAMILY LIGHT FIXTURE AND ROTATE THE ONE YOU JUST MADE WITH DETAIL LINES.

The annotation symbol comes into the Legend view however it appears in the Ref. Level view of the family.  All you would have to do is rotate the geometry/symbol in the family.

I make a new family type that is rotated to look correctly in the project legend, and set the visible parameter to not show up except in legend views. this works pretty good...a little work at the front end but you end up with a parametric legend component to match the actual object.
