HI GIZMOZ/

IN REVIT 2011

any ideas on this one?

how can i avoid the back to back effect when creating a glazing OR "FENCE" type wall with RENDER materials that have cutouts with letters- i want to have the effect of a wall that is made of letters and without the repetative text on the other "skin" of the thickness of the material...

ie- is there a way to create a surface that has not thickness.. and thus give it a material?

thanks

and HAPPY NEW YEAR ALL!!!

E

Try using the Split Face and/or Paint tools and just apply the material to one side of the surface?

Try this:

Set the default material of the wall to a transparent material?

And you could try this as a material:

Take a look at the Wood Stockade material in the library - use it as a base.

Create a jpeg of your repeated text - swap it out with the image map of the Wood Stockade material

Invert the colors of your repeated text jpeg so the text is white and the background is black - swap this out with the Cutout image map of the Wood Stockade material

Paint the one surface of the transparent wall using the new material - hopefully works? :-) I haven't tried it but it seems it should work.

if i understood clearly- i should create a totally transparent material- and make that the base to the host wall---

and then create the split face and attach my a text material--

well- i did it and it worked!

WELL DONE!

great advice!

thanks BM
