I Have a Titleblock that I need to setup with 2 Stamps and editable text stacked on top of each other. The text will be on most of the time during DD set, ie. 60% 80%. Then I need to be able to turn it off and turn on one of the stamps. Depending on what engineer the project belongs to.

Our current setup we have them in layers within AutoCAD and turn them on & off, but I can’t figure out how to do that in Revit Structural 201

I control the viability of my seal with a yes/no parameter in the title blocks.  I then make family types for title blocks with and without my seal.  This can be expanded to have families with different seals.

Can you please be more detailed on how to create it? I understand the concept but I dont know how to go about it. Ive done some shared parameters for items we required on the titleblock. Ive never had to add an "on/off" feature to one.

Thanks in advanced.

Thank you so much for that. It was so easy but a pain. Thank you again; I can’t express enough gratitude for that video.

One thing that I should add is that after setting the visibility in the last step, I create a group of the entire seal.  That way I can distinguish between the line work and text of the different seals.  If you need to edit the group, insert another copy of the group off to the side and edit that.  After you save the changes the original is changed and you can delete the copy. I use this technique for seals from different states.  If all that you are changing is the name and registration number you can just have that information in the yes/no parameter and not duplicate the line work which will help to keep the file smaller.  The yes/no parameter is very useful and I use it in a lot of my families.  For instance I create Simpson hardware by importing the dwg file from the Simpson web site and use the y/n to select which view shows.  Make sure you purge when you are done to get rid of the dwg file.

Thanks for the tip. If I have to send my project to an architect how do i protect the stamp? Would I need to create another titleblock without the stamp and then replace it? then maybe purge?

I have a dummy title block with the same name that has all of the family types but the seal group is replaced with a circle.  Load it into the project and it will over-write the seal.
