Is there a way to get door schedules to count the number of doors of a particular mark or type, rather than listing every door individually on the schedule? I'm ending up with incredibly long schedules that are useless when many of the doors are identical. The schedule creation process offers a "count" option, but it only ever reads "1."

you will need to play with the filters and show only totals and counts, but not sure if you can show only one door, need to play with it a bit... I need a door schedule handy...

Untick itemize every instance.
Then sort by type mark and give each of your doors types as specific type.
Add a count parameter. Under formatting tick calculate totals.
HTH.

It will take some tweaking, but that it definitely on the right track. I stumped 3 revit "experts" at a training seminar with that one (among others.) I'll work on it and post an update. Thanks elados & Mr Spot!
