You can not do what you want the way you want to do it.

Can you Pl Suggest the Best way to do this, tried VG Halftoned the Stairs, but the Problem with this was the Stair on the same level, was also halftoned (e.g Viewing 7th Floor Plan Stair along with a few steps in the Landscape below on the Ground Level)

When you set the View Depth in the view range to below the Bottom it will use the <Beyond> linestyle to show any items "below" the Bottom. You can try changing the <Beyond> linestyle to gray and see if that gets you closer to what you want.

The Problem with this is in a typical Model there are lots of categories, like models, stairs etc...and Lines, it would mean that each and evry category has to be halftoned...which is not practical....

I am actually talking about the <Beyond> linestyle. Go to Manage Tab-->Additional Settings-->Linestyles and find the <Beyond> linestyle. Change its color to gray and it will grayscale all items that show up beyond the "Bottom" of the view range. The "View depth" setting uses the <Beyond> linestyle to depict the visible geometry beyond the bottom of the view range.
